Now imagine that, instead of running for sport,&nbsp;<strong>Every day you have to walk miles just to get water for your family.<\/strong>.<br><br>For many women and girls in rural communities in Peru,&nbsp;<strong>This is not a possibility, it is your reality<\/strong>.<br><br>Water shouldn&#039;t be a luxury. However, in many areas of the country,&nbsp;<strong>Your access remains limited<\/strong>, depending on distant and unreliable sources.&nbsp;<strong>This crisis impacts education, health, employment, and all areas of human development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Peru,&nbsp;<strong>Millions of people do not have access to safe drinking water<\/strong>The water crisis is on the rise, and regions like&nbsp;<strong>Cajamarca<\/strong>&nbsp;face enormous challenges in accessing water every day. This burden&nbsp;<strong>falls mainly on women and girls<\/strong>, who dedicate up to&nbsp;<strong>6 hours a day<\/strong>&nbsp;to collect water, compromising their well-being and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In&nbsp;<strong>Water For People<\/strong>, we have been working since 2008 in Peru to change this reality in a&nbsp;<strong>sustainable and permanent<\/strong>Our commitment is to ensure that the most vulnerable rural communities&nbsp;<strong>have access to safe drinking water and reliable sanitation, now and for future generations<\/strong>. For years, she and many other girls&nbsp;<strong>They walked more than 2 hours a day<\/strong>&nbsp;to collect water before going to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab&quot;Before, we used to go to the river to wash clothes and fetch water from the springs. I carried jugs of water on my head since I was a child. Since then,&nbsp;<strong>No family has had to return to the river for water<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab&quot;Now our children no longer go to school tired. In the mornings we bathe them and they happily go to study.
