We are looking for Country Director - Peru

We are one of the 100 most recognized NGOs worldwide in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector and we are among the 5 NGOs recognized for working with a systemic approach including market mechanisms, which guarantee the sustainability of the solutions. At Water For People we contribute directly to SDG 6 from the issues of full coverage in water and sanitation and the comprehensive management of water resources.

We are currently looking for a Country Director - Peru, whose work base will be in the city of Trujillo. The Director will take on a challenging role, being a Change Agent for a team, for the positioning of the organization and co-defining, together with the organization's global team, strategies for fundraising to increase the reach of the "Total Coverage, Forever" program in rural areas of Peru.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DOES THE PERSON WHO WILL BE PART OF OUR TEAM HAVE?

  • Professional in Administration, Economics, Engineering, Social Sciences or related fields. Master's degree in Administration, Finance or MBA. Desirable with Specialization in Management Administration, Project Management and/or Social Management, Project Management Methodology and knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • 10 – 15 years of experience in management, deputy management or director positions in: Fundraising and/or Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Institutional Image and/or Social Marketing and/or Finance, in non-profit organizations, foundations, microfinance institutions, in the public or private sector. Experience as a Program Manager in: water resources, sanitation, basic services, agriculture, entrepreneurship, among others, preferably in the rural sector, also applies.
  • Extensive knowledge in fundraising through: international cooperation, private sector and individual donations.
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, execution and comprehensive management of portfolios and projects, preferably of a social and productive nature.
  • With financial management for the effective management of programs, funds, budgets, etc.
  • I work with performance, management, impact and social contribution indicators.
  • Advanced level of English - fluent (spoken and written), necessary to work closely with the parent company - USA.
  • MS. Project MS Planner, MS Excel, use and knowledge of digital tools.

What will be its main functions?

  • Lead the comprehensive management of the Peru Country Office: technical team specialized in water and sanitation, management of human, financial, communication, reputational, and programmatic resources, among others.
  • Manage the proper implementation of Water For People's strategic plan in Peru, ensuring that budgets, operational plans and reports are prepared within the expected timeframes, developing and executing the fundraising, positioning, marketing and communications strategy.
  • Strengthen relationships with key organizations and actors (NGOs, government agencies, private sector, donors, foundations, cooperation, etc.).
  • Ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, processes and control policies applicable in Peru and in Water For People, as such.
  • Be responsible for the review, approval and presentation of financial reports to donors.
  • Ensure compliance and internal control of the organization at local, regional and global levels.
