"For many people, turning on a tap and receiving water is an everyday occurrence. For us, it's something new and valuable." – Anita
Anita grew up in Sapuc, a hamlet in Cajamarca, where water only reached a few hours a week. For years, she and many other girls They walked more than 2 hours a day to collect water before going to school.
"We used to go to the river to wash clothes and fetch water from the springs. I carried jugs of water on my head since I was a child. By the time I got to school, I was already exhausted." – Anita

In 2019, Water For People and the Water and Sanitation Administration Board (JAAS) They expanded the water supply system and improved the distribution network in Sapuc. Since then, No family has had to return to the river for water.
