Identify, recognize and disseminate the Good Practices implemented by the Municipal Technical Areas (ATM) and the Sanitation Services Administrative Boards (JASS), aimed at improving the management and provision of sanitation services in rural areas.
¿What do we understand by Good Practices?
They are experiences or interventions that have been implemented with positive results, contributing to the solution of problems and/or difficulties that arise in the daily work of the personnel who work in the ATMs and the JASS and that can serve as a reference in the region. .

Characteristics of good practice
- It presents a valuable result for those involved.
- It is simple and straightforward.
- Responds to a situation that needs to be modified or improved.
- It is relevant and appropriate to the local context.
- It is sustainable over time.
- It is possible to be adapted and replicated under similar conditions.
- It is innovative (transforms the traditional into different and creative).
¿Who can they participate?
Managers or personnel who work in the Municipal Technical Areas, who have direct participation during the implementation of the practice and are working in the municipality where the practice is developed.
Members of the JASS board of directors, prosecutors and sanitation service operators, who have direct participation during the implementation of the practice and are assuming functions in the JASS where the practice is developed.
¿what categories and subcategories do you have the contest?
CATEGORY 1:
Good Practices of ATMs in the management of sanitation services.
sub categories
1.1. JASS technical assistance, training and supervision.
For example:
- Training for boards of directors and young people to calculate the family fee.
- Training for prosecutors to monitor residual chlorine.
- Implementation of JASS model as training centers.
- Identification of the network of guide operators in the district.
- Sectorization of the districts and assignment of those responsible to supervise the JASS.
- JASS district meetings to exchange experiences.
- Model JASS assessment and recognition (district JASS ranking).
- Other practices that contribute to the good performance of the JASS.
1.2. Monitoring the provision of sanitation services
For example:
- DATASS update with support from water system operators.
- Monitoring the quality of service provision in the district (situational room, Excel application).
- Other practices that allow for information on the provision of sanitation services in the district.

Good Practices of the JASS in the provision of sanitation services.

2.1. Administration of sanitation services
For example:
- Articulation with local institutions to promote the valuation of services.
- Hiring operators for the operation and preventive maintenance of the drinking water system.
- Joint work between JASS and communal authorities for the application of the regulations.
- Accountability to the Communal Assembly.
- Other practices that contribute to good administration of services.
2.2. Operation and maintenance of sanitation services
For example:
- Operation of the drinking water system to guarantee water to all associates.
- Preventive maintenance of the drinking water system.
- Installation of micrometers.
- Installation of macro meters.
- Use and maintenance of UBS/latrines.
- Other practices that guarantee the availability and continuity of services.
23. Quality of sanitation services
For example:
- Cleaning and disinfecting the drinking water system when the drinking water system does not have purge valves.
- SAP chlorination to guarantee residual chlorine in all houses.
- Progressive chlorination of the drinking water system until the population accepts it.
- Monitoring of residual chlorine by the prosecutor.
- Sowing and harvesting water at the head of the basin.
- Other practices that guarantee the quality and quantity of water.

The video must contain:
- Name of the Good Practice.
- ATM or JASS name.
- Indicate location (hamlet, district, province and department).
- Present the initial situation or problem to be solved.
- Present the proposal or alternative solution.
- Present the results obtained.
- Budget used.
