Doña Lucía and Don José are directors of JASS La Ciénega. They are very enthusiastic about placing micrometering in the homes of users of the drinking water system. Don José was previously a manager at JASS La Palén where users do have micrometers. Both are sure that micrometering is a solution to avoid wasting drinking water and also a tool to educate the user in valuing the water resource.
Don José begins the conversation by stating: from my experience as a former director of La Palén, micrometering is a good alternative to take care of water and thus reach it for everyone.
"At first, families hear many things about micrometering; that the meters are altered, that they suck air, that one and that other, but all of that is a lie, they are legends," Don José ends.
For her part, Mrs. Lucía is convinced that the meter is a resource to control water waste, to educate people on proper use and not waste.
La Ciénega-Lepenique- Pampa Larga has 150 families. The JASS has carried out awareness and information work on the importance of micrometers and the benefit for everyone. For their part, the JASS directors state that water is important to ensure life and that the advantage of this project is to help them provide water for everyone. "We are all going to benefit from this project, we will have a standard water supply and rate, if users exceed the standard it means that there is excess or misuse of water and it is the responsibility of the JASS to take corrective actions" Don José mentions.
Doña Lucía adds: "Our goal is to educate the user so that they use what is necessary and help us ensure that water is enough for everyone. The meter helps to have water 24 hours a day."
